Commercial Energy Assessments

Commercial Services Since 4th January 2009 it is a legal requirement to provide a Commercial EPC within the sales particulars for any commercial property that is being marketed for sale or let in England and Wales. Our Chartered Surveyors are qualified to carry out both Level 3 and Level 4 Commercial Energy Assessments.

We are also able to provide CO2 Emission Rate Calculations for Building Regulation Part L2A submissions in accordance with SBEM (Simplified Building Energy Model) methodology. This is often referred to as an “On Construction EPC”.

The commercial EPC looks similar to the “fridge” style EPC that is used for domestic property. The EPC gives the property (or part of the property) a rating from A-G. For more information on this service please contact us.

  • EPC’s last for 10 years or until a more recent report is produced
  • Can be a good marketing tool
  • Benchmark figures for existing stock and new build provided

Buildings Which Don't Need An EPC

EPCs are not required on the sale, rent or construction of:
  • Places of Worship
  • Temporary buildings with a planned time of use less than two years
  • Stand alone buildings with a total useful floor area of less than 50m2 that are not dwellings
  • Industrial sites, workshops and non-residential agricultural buildings with low energy demand
